Many years ago Alan and Lois came up North to Hull to stay over before going the next day with me, Chris and Jez to Headingley for the test match. We went to a restaurant the night before the cricket. At the bar, Alan produced his Robin Smith impression, swinging an imaginary bat and cutting the ball to the off side (and almost clearing the bar in the process). He then lit up a huge cigar (allowed in those days!) and filled the bar area with dense smoke - exclaiming in a loud voice - "I know it's anti-social, but I don't fxxxxxxxx care!!!.
